Roman Grechaniuk and wife Oleksandra have opened Ukrainian Cuisine, a place for authentic Ukrainian food, in The Town Centre. That’s why I’m pleased to be able to feature the Grechaniuk family in my column this week. Roman and his wife Oleksandra are the proud, new owners of Ukrainian Cuisine. "The idea of opening a restaurant has been something that I have thought about for a long, long time. I’ve probably been dreaming about it my whole life," Roman Grechaniuk said. Ukrainian Cuisine is located in the food court of The Town Centre. It opened just one week ago. Roman is the main chef, while Oleksandra, their oldest son, Vladislav, and their godmothers will all help to run this family business. Immigrating from Ukraine six years ago, the Grechaniuks look forward to sharing their delicious meals with those who enjoy Ukrainian food. The menu provides a good selection of traditional dishes including perogies, cabbage rolls, borscht, homemade sausage, nalysnyky, meatballs, ribs, a variety of salads and a unique dessert menu featuring pompushky (one of my favourites)!
